Writes an encrypted copy of a whole profile into a folder you choose — everything it holds, as it is stored. Nothing here opens your data; your passphrase is used only to work out which objects belong to you and to read the list of them.
The profile’s name and passphrase, and somewhere to put it. The profile must be logged off — a phone that is signed in keeps sealing, and a copy taken underneath that can catch parts of it from different moments.
Your 12-word recovery code only if this profile was set up on a Pixel, where the phone’s own hardware holds the key. We will ask for it if it turns out to be needed, so try without it first.
Everything in the folder is encrypted, and nothing in it opens without your passphrase. Two things to know anyway: the pointer files identify this profile to our servers, and anyone holding the folder can try passphrases against it offline, without the limits our servers apply. So the folder is exactly as strong as your passphrase — keep it where you would keep financial records.
An export does not carry your plan or any unspent credit. Those stay with the profile on our servers and are not in the folder.
