Contacts, calendar, photos and files — pulled off an old Android over USB and saved into a folder you pick. Nothing is uploaded and nothing reaches us; the transfer is between the phone and this computer.
These files are saved in the clear. That is the point of this tool —
they are ordinary .vcf, .ics and media files any software can read. Keep the
folder somewhere you are happy for them to sit, and remember it is not protected the way a nowhere
profile is.
On the phone: enable USB debugging (Settings → About → tap Build number 7× → Developer options), plug it in, and accept the “Allow USB debugging?” prompt.
A big copy runs for a while. If the phone sleeps or the USB connection resets part-way, the file being copied at that moment is skipped — so for a large copy it is worth turning on Stay awake in Developer options first, and leaving the phone alone until it finishes.
